Our Story

Back in 2014, our lives were that of a typical Auckland based family – stressed, overstretched, long hours, juggling 2 kids, family commitments and that’s all before the hours spent in traffic.  Living the kiwi dream, right?!

Coastscapes was initially born out of Ben’s desire to rebalance our world and back Rach up while she was off running the wholesale business we’d previously owned. By the end of the 2016 FY it was pretty clear that what was initially a back-up plan, was fast becoming a very real business with abundant opportunities.

So...  We dove, right in.  Both of us.

Our Story

Ben’s the face of Coastscapes.  He’s the guy you want to be mates with – chances are, you already are.  Relationships are his buzz.  Ben’s spent 13+ years working within the landscape & construction space, both on the tools and building strong working relationships with key partners.

I, Rach, make sure all the clogs keep turning.  Having spent 10 years building a successful wholesale business in the DIY space, I’m taking those wins & lessons and deploying them here in Coastscapes.

Our family is super passionate about outdoor adventures, so creating outdoor spaces for homes and communities is right up our lane.  We’re big big believers in enjoying your outdoors.

Coastscapes foundations are built on the back of our family’s values:  being straight up & honest, being down to earth, taking ownership, backing yourself, getting it done, people come first and celebrating together.

Behind the Name

Recently we engaged with uber talented street artist GASP, to put into picture the meaning behind the name Coastscapes. He absolutely nailed our brief. The mural located in our warehouse is 2 storeys tall x 7meters wide - to give you perspective, that’s the warehouse door in the bottom right.

We believe we’re incredibly grateful to bring our children up on the beautiful Whangaparaoa Peninsula; surrounded by breath taking coastlines, clean blue waters, stunning flora & fauna and some iconic bird species.

Coastscapes is homage to the environment we love & live in.
